Every project begins with an analysis of the urban structure, the landscape and the history of the site. This provides the foundation for architecture that is rooted in its surroundings.

Past, present and future form a continuous narrative. Each project builds on its context and adds a new layer to the city.
Craftsmanship
Material, construction and execution are integral to the design process from the very first sketch. This is how buildings retain their value over time.
What we offer
From the earliest stages, we develop our projects through an integrated 3D model, bringing together context, feasibility, design, technology and construction.
This allows design decisions to be explored, visualised and tested for feasibility at an early stage. Careful preliminary research and a well-founded design then provide the basis for an efficient planning and approval process.
As a full-service architectural practice, we guide projects from the initial strategic analysis through to detailed design for construction and BIM delivery.
POLS_architects
POLS_architects builds on the architectural practice established in 2000 by Berlin-based architect Hans Kollhoff and Alexander Pols. From 2015, the practice continued as Kollhoff & Pols architecten. In 2026, the studio entered a new chapter as POLS_architects.
Alexander Pols advises on architectural quality as a member of the Advisory Committee for Environmental Quality and Cultural Heritage in The Hague and the Gestaltungsrat in Potsdam. He is also a guest lecturer, Chair of the Examination Committee of the Dutch Architects Register, and regularly gives lectures.
